I saw a hummingbird moth nectaring on Tecoma stans the other day. He was diving into those yellow bells and only his little tail was sticking out. I had no camera handy. Your pictures are great.
I saw 1 of these moths a few years ago at my parents house. we were arguing over if it was a moth or a hummingbird! Really cool that you were able to get such wonderful shots of it. Amazing!
Happy Monday Donna. Among those flowers in your area, it is good to know that Duranta can thrive here nicely as well. I love it during the rainy season as the butterflies are always there!
Your photos are really wonderful. I have never heard of the hummingbird moth before! What an amazing and totally intriguing insect. I am going to look it up further.

Great photos of the hummingbird moth. I have some that come to visit me annually. Not as pretty as yours. I hope to see them soon.
